Tatineni Rama Rao, popularly known as T. Rama Rao is an Indian filmmaker who primarily works in the Hindi and Telugu film industry. He began his career as an assistant director before making his directorial debut with the Telugu film Navarathri (1966), a remake of the Tamil movie of the same name. He is known for delivering several hits in Telugu cinema with films like Brahamchari (1969), Jeevana Tarangalu (1973), Yamagola (1975), and Aalu Magalu (1977). Rao made his Hindi film debut with Lok Parlok (1979), starring Jeetendra and Jaya Prada. He recognized for his Bollywood films like Judaai (1980), Inquilaab (1984), Naseeb Apna Apna (1986), Bulandi (2000), and Beti No. 1 (2000). In his career span, he has directed 65 films in Hindi and Telugu language. Rao also worked as a producer in a few Tamil movies.
He passed away on April 20, 2022 due to age-related illness.
