Ted Elliott is an American screenwriter, born in 1961. He is best known for his work in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl(2003),Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides(2011), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man`s Chest(2006) and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World`s End (2007). He won BAFTA Film Award, Annie Award and Western Writers of America Spur Award. He has been nominated for Academy Award for Best Writing in Shrek (2001).
In 2004, he was elected to the board of directors of the Writers Guild of America; his term on the board ended in 2006. In 2005, Elliott ran for president of the Writers Guild of America but lost to animation writer and historical figurine maker Patric Verrone.
