Coming from a theatre family, she started acting in plays at the age of 15. She is best known for her lead role as Meera in the award-winning film `Gantumoote (2019)`. However, her first appearance was in Idolle Ramayana (2016), where she shared the cast with her aunt Sudha Belawadi and her grandmother Bhargavi Narayan.

She has traveled with their repertory `Tirugata` staging plays across Karnataka from 2014-2015. She ran the theatre workshop at Suchitra Bala Jagath between 2015 and 2017. She directed two plays for her college theatre group, winning the college several awards. She graduated from NMKRV College for Women in 2018 and holds a diploma in Theatre Arts from NINASAM. She has worked in 42 theatre productions, staging about 410 shows, and has done backstage work with CFD since her school days.

Teju is a trained and practicing yoga instructor.
