About
Best known for his role as John Kramer/Jigsaw in the eight films of the Saw movie series, Tobin Bell is an American actor. After appearing in several uncredited roles, his first major acting role came in director Alan Parker's crime-drama, Mississippi Burning (1988) as FBI Agent Stokes. He has appeared in nearly 100 movies and his notable works include False Identity (1990), Loose Cannons (1990), Goodfellas (1990), Ruby (1992), The Firm (1993), In the Line of Fire (1993), Malice (1993), The Quick and the Dead (1995), and Brown's Requiem (1998). But it was the 2004 James Wan horror mystery, Saw, that cemented his place as the menacing Jigsaw killer. Bell played an engineer, John Kramer who has a terminal illness and wants people to appreciate their life by testing their will to live via a series of twisted "games". The movie was made on a minuscule budget and went on to become a huge hit at the box office. Bell has also made TV appearances in shows like Seinfeld (1989-1998), Under Suspicion (1994-1995), The X-Files (1993), Alias (2001-2006), 24 (2001-2010), Revelations (2005), The Kill Point (2007), and more recently in The Flash (2014).
In 2017 Bell reprised his role as John Kramer/Jigsaw in director-duo Michael and Peter Spierig's, horror-mystery, Jigsaw. The movie is the eighth installment in the Saw franchise. The cast also includes Matt Passmore, Callum Keith Rennie, Laura Vandervoort, Cle Bennett, and Hannah Emily Anderson.
