Born to a Jewish family in New York City, Toby Emmerich started his career as an executive music producer in 1994 with Even Cowgirls Get the Blues. A graduate from the Wesleyan University, Emmerich is born to Constance, a concert pianist, and Andre Emmerich, a gallery owner, and art dealer. Currently, the President and COO of the Warner Bros. Pictures Group, Toby Emmerich has been a part of the entertainment business for over three decades, where he has donned several hats such as that of a film music supervisor, a screenwriter, and an executive producer.
Prior to his current role at Warner Bros. Pictures, Emmerich was the President and Chief Operating Officer of New Line Cinema, a film production label of Warner Bros. Entertainment, for eight years. During his tenure at Line Cinemas, Emmerich was the executive producer of blockbuster movies such as The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Elf, The Notebook, San Andreas, Central Intelligence, Horrible Bosses, We`re The Millers, Lights Out, The Conjuring, The Hobbit trilogy, Annabelle, and Collateral Beauty among many others.
Apart from heading the Warner Bros. Pictures Group, Emmerich also works with the live stage play division of Warner Bros. Entertainment, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, and saw its new production Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Broadway in 2017 under his leadership. Meanwhile, at Warner Bros. Pictures Group, Emmerich has The LEGO Batman Movie, Kong: Skull Island, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Wonder Woman, The House, Dunkirk, Justice League, It, Game Night, and Rampage to his credit.
