Tom Courtenay is an actor of English origin who made his stage debut with The Seagull in 1960. Thereafter, he performed in Henry IV, Part I, Twelfth Night and Billy Liar. Private Potter (1962) marks his film debut was made. although he rose to fame with The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962). Some of his other work includes King and Country (1964), Doctor Zhivago (1965), The Night of the Generals (1967), The Dresser (1983),The Boy from Mercury (1996) and Gambit (2011).
