Oscar-nominated animator, director and producer Travis Knight started his showbiz journey as a musician before eventually finding greater success in filmmaking. He is best known for his work as a lead animator in The Boxtrolls (2014) and Kubo and the Two Strings (2016), the latter of which also marked Knight`s directorial debut. Both these movies were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film in their respective years.

Other significant animation credits include the dark fantasy horror movie Coraline (2009) and the horror comedy ParaNorman (2012). In 2018, Knight made his sophomore outing as a director with the sci-fi action film Bumblebee (2018), which starred Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena in the lead roles. His 2020 release includes Missing Link.
