U R Ananthamurthy was a profound Kannada writer who wqs one of the finalists of Man Booker International Prize for the year 2013. He was the recipent of Padma Bhushan and the ever prestigious Jnanpith award. He had also been awarded the Kerala state film awards for best story writer for his stupendous work in movies like Samskara,Mouni,Avasthe etc.
