V Shantaram (Shantaram) is an Indian film director and a producer born on November 18, 1901 in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. Shantaram married thrice, his first wife was Vimla, then he married to Jayashree, an actress and had two children and later, he married to Sandhya. Shantaram has been awarded with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1985 and was rewarded with Padma Vibhushan in 1992.
