Varun Grover is an Indian comedian, screenwriter, and lyricist, who gained sudden and widespread popularity in the year 2015, with his film Masaan. A recipient of the Best Lyricist award at the 63rd National Film Award in 2015, for the song Moh Moh ke Dhaage in Dum Laga ke Haisha, he is an alumnus of IIT BHU, Varanasi. He started his career as a dialogue writer with Accident on Hill Road (2009), after which he wrote the lyrics for Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) as well as the sequel Gangs of Wasseypur 2. He also collaborated on the lyrics of popular films like Fan, Udta Punjab, Newton and Kaala. Branching out to stand-up comedy his set 'Padmaavat and the parrot' received 5.6 million views and counting. His 2018 projects include Sui Dhaaga.
