Vellai Subbaiah is a Tamil actor who was well-nown in the industry for his comedic roles. Beginning his career with Maanavan, he went on to be associated with films starring superstars like MG Ramachandran (MGR), Sivaji Ganeshan, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Famous for his banana-comedy scene in Karagattakaran where he acted alongside Goundamani and Senthil in Karagattakaran, Subbaiah`s acting career, unfortunately, did not take off. He breathed his last at the age of 80 due to throat cancer.
