Bokkala Kishore Kumar got the moniker Vennela Kishore courtesy of his performance in his debut movie Vennela - a 2005 romantic comedy that went on to become a blockbuster and has since gained a cult following, especially among youngsters. Following his breakthrough role, Kishore has appeared in around a hundred films, primarily in comedic roles. He is one of the most sought-after comedians in contemporary Telugu cinema and has won several accolades including a Nandi Award and an IIFA Award in the course of his career.
