Venugopan is an Indian film director, who works mainly in the Malayalam film industry. Before becoming a full time director, he served as an assistant director to P. Padmarajan on his 1986 murder mystery, Kariyila Kattu Pole. Venu continued working as an assistant director on movies like Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal (1986), Nombarathi Poovu (1987), Season (1989), Innale (1989) and Njan Gandharvan (1991), before making his directorial debut in 1998 with Kusruthi Kuruppu (1998). Over the years he has directed movies like Sharja To Sharja (2001), Choonda (2003) and The Reporter (2015). In 2017 Venu directed Anoop Menon, Aparna Balamurali, Anu Sithara and Gayathri Arun in the comedy drama, Sarvopari Palakkaran.
