In the course of a showbiz career spanning around two decades, Vijay Raaz has appeared in over eighty movies besides venturing into filmmaking with the acclaimed war drama
Kya Dilli Kya Lahore (2014). The actor made his feature film debut in
Bhopal Express (1999), and subsequently rose to prominence courtesy of his performance in the 2001 movie
Monsoon Wedding. For his work in Monsoon Wedding, Vijay was nominated for a Zee Cine Award for Best Comedian that year.
In the years that followed, Vijay went on to establish himself as an accomplished character actor and comedian courtesy of his roles in movies like
Company (2002), Run (2004) and
Raghu Romeo (2004), the last of which won the National Film Award for Best Hindi Film of the year. Vijay also received the Jury Prize at the Dhaka International Film Festival for essaying the titular role in Raghu Romeo. The thriller drama
