A three-time Academy Award nominee, Walter F. Parkes is an American screenwriter, film producer and documentary filmmaker. In a career extending across four decades, he has produced over fifty feature films, besides co-founding the entertainment and technology company Dreamscape Immersive and serving as the president of Steven Spielberg`s Amblin Entertainment.

Parkes first rose to prominence in the 1970s, when his documentary The California Reich (1975) was nominated for an Academy Award. In 1984, he earned yet another nomination for his work as a screenwriter in the sci-fi movie WarGames (1983). Notable film credits as a producer or executive producer include Awakenings (1990), Men in Black (1997), Gladiator (2000), Minority Report (2002), Catch Me If You Can (2002), Just Like Heaven (2005) and Men in Black 3 (2012).

More recently, he was associated with the production of the action comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses (2016) and the sci-fi action comedy Men in Black: International (2019).
