Wanda Sykes is recognised as one of the funniest stand-up comics. She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, and raised in Maryland. As a performer and writer on The Chris Rock Show (1997), she was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards and in 1999 won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music, or Comedy Special. Wanda`s other TV shows include The Downer Channel (2001), Will & Grace (2006), Drop Dead Diva (2011) and The Simpsons (2013). She has also starred in movies such as Pootie Tang (2001), Monster-in-Law (2005) and The Hot Flashes (2013). She lent her voice for the films Ice Age: Continental Drift, which released in 2012 and Ice Age: Collision Course, which released in 2016.
