American filmmaker, visual effects artist and producer Wes Ball started out in Hollywood by working in the VFX department of movies like Beginners (2010) and #Stuck (2014), and subsequently made his directorial debut with the 2014 dystopian sci-fi action thriller The Maze Runner. Following the critical and commercial success of the film, he produced and directed its sequels - Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) and Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018). Besides these, Ball has also produced the supernatural psychological horror thriller Phoenix Forgotten (2017).
