Cherokee actor and film producer Wesley Studi is best known for his portrayal of Native American characters in movies like Dances with Wolves (1990), The Last of the Mohicans (1992) and Geronimo: An American Legend (1993). A former member of the Oklahoma National Guard and a Vietnam War veteran, Studi ventured into acting in his early forties, debuting with the 1988 tv movie The Trial of Standing Bear. Since then, he has appeared in over 50 films and numerous tv shows, notable among which are the action movie Street Fighter (1994), the crime drama Heat (1995), the superhero comedy Mystery Men (1999) and the 2017 Western film Hostiles.
