A former detective in the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Will Beall announced his arrival in literary world with his acclaimed debut novel LA REX in 2006. Subsequently, he made his screenwriting debut with the Hollywood crime drama Gangster Squad (2013), which starred Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin and Emma Stone in the lead roles.

In 2017, Beall developed and executive produced the crime thriller series Training Day, which was a follow-up to the eponymous 2001 movie starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. Other significant writing credits include the DC superhero film Aquaman (2018), which starred Jason Momoa in the titular role. His 2021 release includes Zack Snyder`s Justice League.
