A chance meeting with an old schoolmate gave a young William Thomas Sadler the chance to star in a Broadway production of Chekhov`s Ivanov. Sadler made the best of the opportunity, using it to kickstart a successful career in theatre, film and television. Despite having a multitude of roles on screen, Sadler kept up his theatre work, appearing in more than 75 productions till date. Some of his most notable works include his role in Die Hard 2 (1990), The Shawshank Redemption (1994), the Pacific (2010) and the TV show Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1998-1999). He also took on the role of the President of the United States in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in Iron Man 3 (2013) and Agents of SHIELD (2015-2016). His 2020 releases include the horror film The Grudge.
