Xavi Gimenez is a Spanish cinematographer whose style of operating the camera has fascinated the filmmakers of the horror/ supernatural genre. His chosen path was film studies and he soon accomplished his first short film Walter Peralta, as camera operator, which earned him a prize at the International Festival of Jerusalem. His impeccable camera work has enabled him to gain recognition in the industry. He was nominated for the Goya Award for best photography for the film Intacto. He has also won the award for the Best Operator on several occasions at the Sitges Festival. He brought to amazing films to life, like Intacto (2001), Transsiberian (2008), The Machinist (2004), Agora (2009) among others before working on Marrowbone.
