The daughter of singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, she made her debut with a minor role in the 2007 romantic comedy-drama film No Reservations, and got her first big break with her portrayal of mutant Angel Salvadore in the superhero film X-Men: First Class (2011).
