Throwback to 18th century Odisha. Gajapati Ramchandra Deva II was the reigning Maharaja of Khordha. Despite Utkala being shackled in the chains of political captivity, Akbar’s commander-in-chief Mansingh granted independence to Khordha, exclusively for Lord Jagannath. Therefore, the divine responsibility for Lord Jagannath’s service and security solely rested on the shoulders of the Khordha Gajapati.
The Hinduphobe Taqi Khan was the Naib Nazim of Cuttack during that time. His singular objective was to assault the soul of Utkala Lord Jagannath, and crush the spirit and morale of its people. In the first stage of his multifold attack, he treacherously succeeds in conquering Khordha and capturing the Gajapati. With intent to obliterate the Odia race and annihilate the glory of Hinduism, he gears up to strike on the Srimandira.
How will Gajapati Ramachandra Deva defend the honour of Lord Jagannath against treachery, ignominy and humiliation?
