
The play Ajeeb Dastaan is inspired by a true incident and written by Play Director Alok
Shukla. Play based on the lives of two divorced couples in the metropolitan city of Mumbai.
Each couple has its own reasons and problems that led to their separation. After the
divorce, one woman attempts to resolve her issues by living with a male partner, while the
man from the other couple tries to find a solution by remarrying another woman. In the
midst of this struggle, the teenage child of one couple falls into drug addiction and is
eventually sent to a rehabilitation center.
The play opens with a scene in the rehab centre, and the story unfolds through flashbacks.
Running for about an hour and fifteen minutes, the play navigates through its five main
characters and three supporting roles, gradually peeling back the many harsh layers of
marital life in a metropolitan city like Mumbai.
