About The Event
He came to Mumbai to become a superstar. The city had other plans.
Meet Dattatray "Dattu" Manjarsumbhekar, a wide-eyed dreamer from a small village near Pandharpur who steps off the train in Mumbai with nothing but hope and a dream of seeing his name in lights.
But the city of dreams doesn't hand out stardom easily. Rejection follows rejection. Humiliation becomes routine. Loneliness becomes his only companion.
Alone on stage, Dattu talks to himself, to the city, and to audiences only he can see. He turns every heartbreak into a punchline and every failure into a confession. You'll laugh with him, ache for him, and then slowly watch something inside him change. Behind the charm and the jokes, anger is building. Frustration is boiling. And madness is just one step away.
Written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and starring Siddharth Jadhav, Animal is a gripping one-man performance that walks the razor-thin line between ambition and obsession, and leaves you with a question that lingers long after the curtain falls: Did Dattu become the star he dreamed of... or just another soul swallowed by the city?
