Most people think that Kama sutra is a book about positions and mainly written for men but careful reading of Kama Sutra reveals that it is for women, it was intended to be used by women and has much to offer to women even today.
The Kamasutra was certainly not the first of its genre, nor it was the last but many textbook of eroticism followed it but Kama sutra was the first text to admit that the purpose of sexual intercourse is pleasure and not to produce children. It was first text to advocate decriminalisation of adultery. Kama Sutra recognised women right of sexual pleasure. Kama Sutra also suggest ways to women on how to get out of toxic relationship.
Kama Sutra also have problematic parts as it establishes a code of acceptable sexual violence which later encouraged rape mentality. Kama Sutra gives an exhaustive list of those women who can be picked by men without much effort. Kama Sutra allows worst form of perversion to be used to get married and Kama sutra allows sexual harassment at work place.
