About The Event
Blank Slate
A playground for work-in-progress scratch performances!
A rare opportunity to experience raw, edgy, experimental work in its nascent stages of creation. Experience a wide range of new writing and ideas all in the span of one evening that allows you to experience scratch performances and meet the risk-taking artists who are working on them. Chances are you will catch some super exciting stuff before it premieres into a full fledged show! Besides, how many times do we get to actively participate in creative processes by offering feedback to artists?
This one is truly rare.
What is a scratch performance?
A new performance piece at an early stage of development.
What is the event format?
Blank Slate is a curated scratch evening, showcasing up to 6 new pieces.
Each scratch piece is a new, unperformed, untested excerpt from a full-fledged piece that is currently under development.
Each artist gets up to 10 minutes to perform their piece, contextualise it, and state what they are looking for from an audience.
Each sharing will be followed by a mildly structured feedback that would help in gathering both, a spontaneous response and a more thought out one. The audience will be encouraged to be empathetic and supportive even in their criticism, allowing for the overall exchange to be exciting for both the artists and the audience.
