Jaane Pehchaane Anjane, produced by Anupam Kher Studios, is a poignant and thought-provoking play which explores loneliness, companionship and human connection in a contemporary middle-class setting. The narrative revolves around a group of neighbours—a widow, a widower, a young paying guest and a woman coping with separation—each dealing with solitude in their own way.
Through layered storytelling, sharp dialogues, humour and realism, the play reflects on gender roles and societal expectations, revealing how individuals search for meaning, warmth and emotional connection in everyday life. The chemistry between Anupam Kher, who plays Phatak, and Swaroop Sampat, who plays Vimal, brings depth and emotional resonance to the narrative.
