About The Event
It is a social satire play written by Vijay Tendulkar. And Hindi adaptation by Basant Dev which talks about various aspects of the society. The story of this play revolves around the main character of the story, Mahipat Babruvahan, who comes from a small village to the city to get rid of his caste. He works hard and gets M.A. in 3rd class. Then he searches for the job of a professor but he does not get success. Somewhere due to lack of any recommendation, somewhere due to not being of high caste, somewhere due to lack of acquaintance, Mahipat is refused the job but Mahipat does not accept defeat and after a lot of hard work, he gets a job somewhere far away. He gets a job in a village in a backward area, but even there he has to face a lot of difficulties, the play continues amidst all such ups and downs. This play also clearly reflects todays social perspective that even today in our society there is caste discrimination, discrimination, poor education system, inequality. Even today the society has not become free from prejudice, traditional thinking etc. This play has a deep message hidden within it which is a mirror of the society and similarly this play forces the audience to think. This play has been directed by Lucky Malhotra, who has also staged all Time classic works like Gunahon Ka Devta by Dharamveer Bharti in the form of a play many times.
