Koriyappana Choreography is a popular Kannada satirical comedy play written by well-known playwright and humorist H. Dundhiraj.
The story revolves around an eccentric, old-school local resident named Kariyappa. He takes it upon himself to organize, direct, or "choreograph" a major cultural event or dance routine for a neighborhood gathering.Kariyappa has highly traditional, rigid, and often chaotic ideas about coordination and presentation. The comedy stems from his interactions with younger, modern, or urban-minded participants who prefer contemporary styles, leading to mismatched expectations, funny miscommunications, and rehearsal room disasters.
Despite intense arguments, stubborn creative differences, and a series of hilarious rehearsal failures, the community manages to find common ground. The play concludes with a chaotic yet heartwarming final performance where traditional flavors and modern energy blend together seamlessly.
