About The Event
'Ladaki', a monologue play by Kavita Morwankar, is the story of Minal - a talented and sensitive girl passionate about Kathak. Her dreams are restricted by her father's expectations and society's fear of 'what will people say'. Witnessing injustice against her friend Sharyu, and while studying law, she becomes aware of patriarchy, casteism and gender inequality. She defies society to marry Pankaj, who supports her dreams. However, she later becomes a victim of atrocity and meets a tragic end, exposing the brutal reality of violence against women. The play conveys that women need not just protection, but equal rights, freedom, and a change in society's mindset.
