In Gulyani’s stories, ordinary moments of everyday life take an extraordinary meaning. The author’s language is simple, sensitive, and intimate, bringing readers very close to the characters. “Ladkiyaan Hongi” is, in essence, a book written by Mr. Gulyani about the experience of being human—where women, men, and society become reflections of one another.
This book is a collection of thirteen stories that explore the many shades of life and the inner complexities of human beings. Although the title is “Ladkiyaan Hongi”, the work is not limited to women-centric themes; rather, it equally reflects love, loneliness, memories, social pressures, desires, and the complexities of human relationships.
Lokesh Gulyani (Author):
He has been actively writing for the past 12 years and has published 11 books, including four novels, three short story collections, one poetry collection, and three children’s books. Primarily a storyteller and novelist, he received the Best Story Award at the Bhopal Sahitya Utsav (2020) for “Henan Aur Main”, the Munshi Premchand Sahitya Samman in 2023, and the Dr. Asha Anand Sahitya Puraskar in 2024.
