About The Event
Massage is a 2 act play, in fact, a monologue written by the late Vijay Tendulkar. Tracing the trajectory of Happy Kumar's life and in the process exposing the underbelly of a big city through his escapades. Happy Kumar comes to a big city to become an actor but ends up as the fourth asst. director of a C-class filmmaker who specialises in the snake and sex genre of cinema. As time goes by, Happy Kumar becomes increasingly disillusioned and finally ends up as a masseur. During the course of his life, he meets many interesting characters, including a cunning lawyer, an unworthy politician and his funny PA. Pandey, the woman in his life, a film heroine and her mother, who almost molests him. Rakesh Bedi plays 24 different characters deftly in his inimitable comic style in a span of two hours. Vijay Tendulkar has, in the truest sense, tried to “massage” all the emotions and sensibilities of the viewers. It is one of his great works.
