About The Event
Master Drama Company is a lively musical comedy about Raja Master, a humble tailor whose family has been running a tailoring shop for generations. When business starts declining, Raja decides to follow his dream of starting a theatre company instead of stitching clothes.
He names it The Great Raja Master Drama Company and turns his fellow tailors into actors. On the opening night of their very first play, everything that can go wrong does. As inexperienced performers struggle on stage, a series of hilarious mistakes, misunderstandings, and comic situations keep the audience entertained.
Presented in the unique play within a play style and inspired by the vibrant folk tradition of Nautanki, the production is filled with music, laughter, and colourful performances. In the end, Raja Master discovers that creating theatre is far more challenging than he imagined, and perhaps tailoring was his true calling all along.
