About The Event
"Paar Chana De" is a theatrical retelling of the legendary love story of Sohni and Mahiwal.
When Sohni, a gifted potter's daughter, falls in love with Izzat Baig, a traveller, their love soon finds itself caught between family, society and fate. Separated after Sohni is married against her wishes, the two lovers continue to meet secretly across the mighty Chenab.
With love as their only strength and a clay pot as their only means, Sohni crosses the river night after night to keep her promise to Mahiwal. A story of love, longing, sacrifice and destiny, Paar Chana De brings this timeless Punjabi folk legend to life through theatre, music and emotion.
