About The Event

Following two hugely successful seasons and an overwhelming response from audiences, Dhanraj Nathwani’s Rajadhiraaj: Love. Life. Leela. returns to the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) for its much awaited third season. The world’s first mega-musical on Shri Krishna has enthralled audiences across Mumbai, Delhi, and Dubai’s prestigious Dubai Opera, and now returns to NMACC’s Grand Theatre with its signature blend of scale, emotion, music, and spectacle.

At the helm of the production is Executive Producer Bhoomi Nathwani, whose vision has shaped Rajadhiraaj into one of India’s most ambitious theatrical experiences. The musical is penned by acclaimed lyricist, screenwriter, and Padma Shri awardee Prasoon Joshi, who brings to life the many facets of Shri Krishna-his compassion, wisdom, leadership, and divine playfulness through a compelling narrative that resonates with audiences across generations.

Directed by Shruti Sharma, the production traces Krishna’s extraordinary journey from the beloved child of Gokul to the revered Rajadhiraaj of Dwarka. Through breathtaking visuals, powerful storytelling, and a cast of over 180 performers, audiences are transported across Vraj, Mathura, Mewar, and Dwarka, experiencing the many chapters of Krishna’s life and legacy.

The musical is elevated by a spectacular original score composed by celebrated music duo Sachin-Jigar, featuring 20 original songs that seamlessly blend Indian classical traditions, Haveli Sangeet, Gujarati and Rajasthani folk influences, Hindustani semi-classical music, and Western symphonic arrangements into a rich and immersive musical experience.

Adding movement and grandeur to the production are renowned choreographers Bertwin D’Souza and Shampa Gopikrishna, whose dynamic choreography brings Krishna’s vibrant world to life through a captivating blend of classical, folk, and contemporary dance forms.

The visual scale of Rajadhiraaj is envisioned by acclaimed production designer Omung Kumar, whose elaborate sets recreate the splendour and majesty of ancient India. Complementing this vision are the stunning costumes by celebrated designer Neeta Lulla, who has created over 1,800 intricately crafted costumes enriching the production with colour, authenticity, and visual magnificence.

Creatively produced by Parthiv Gohil and Viral Rachh, Rajadhiraaj: Love. Life. Leela. is a monumental celebration of devotion, music, dance, and storytelling. The extensive story research by acclaimed writer Raam Mori ensures that the narrative remains rooted in authenticity while resonating with contemporary audiences.

Returning for its third season at NMACC, the production promises audiences an unforgettable theatrical journey into the life and legacy of Shri Krishna-an epic spectacle that continues to inspire, move, and enchant audiences of all ages.
