Sangeet Ekach Pyala (translated as Just One Glass or One Last Glass) is a legendary, century-old Marathi musical play (Sangeet Natak) written by the acclaimed playwright Ram Ganesh Gadkari. First completed in 1917 and premiered on stage in 1919, it is widely considered one of the finest social tragedies in Indian literature.
Breaking away from the mythological and royal themes dominant in early Indian theatre, the play focuses on the grim reality of alcohol addiction and its devastating impact on middle-class families.
