About The Event
Shakespeare Mharo Jamai is a folk theatre production inspired by the storytelling tradition of Rajasthan’s Banjara community. Traveling from village to village with their Camel Cart, they preserve and perform their folk tales through music and dance.
When they discover that William Shakespeare has written stories similar to their own, they believe he has stolen their tales. Their journey gradually reveals a deeper truth that stories may have different names and forms, but human emotions remain universal.
Blending Rajasthani folk music, dance, humour, and the spirit of Rajasthan, the play celebrates the timeless power of storytelling and the shared emotions that connect people across cultures.
