About The Event
The play revolves around a middle-class Maharashtrian family: Rukmini, Vishwambhar, and their son Mandar.
Rukmini is a calm, deeply spiritual, and grounded homemaker who looks at life with a sense of balance and acceptance. Vishwambhar, her husband, is a practical bank manager who often sees life through a humorous lens, but when situations demand it, proves deeply practical and responsible. Mandar is an engineering student who gradually begins questioning whether it is truly the life he wants. Driven by his own ideas and ambitions, he decides to step away from engineering and start something of his own. With his parents' financial support, Mandar sets up a startup that he strongly believes will succeed.
However, things do not go as planned. The startup begins to struggle, and Mandar finds himself facing failure, financial pressure, self-doubt, and the fear of having disappointed his family. The confidence with which he had once pursued his dream slowly begins to disappear.
Through this difficult phase, Samvadini, Mandar's best friend, stands firmly by his side. She understands the mindset of today's young generation and becomes the person who complements Mandar's inner child with her maturity, supporting him through his highs and lows.
It is during Mandar's lowest phase that the wisdom hidden in everyday Marathi shlokas and the teachings of saint literature begin to enter the story. Rukmini's understanding of these ideas helps Mandar look at failure, ambition, expectations, and life from a different perspective. She does not preach religion; instead, she brings an age-old way of looking at life into the realities of a young man's modern struggles.
As Mandar begins to understand these lessons, he slowly discovers that the answers he was searching for were not always about success or failure. They were about finding clarity, balance, and a sense of purpose. This realisation eventually leads him to a new idea, one that brings together timeless wisdom and the needs of modern life.
What begins as a family's struggle with a young man's career choices ultimately becomes a story about failure, self-discovery, relationships, and finding a new way forward.
