TAFTEESH is a Hindi theatrical adaptation inspired by JB Priestley play An Inspector Calls. The story revolves around a mysterious investigation that forces a family to confront uncomfortable truths about their past as hidden relationships, choices, and responsibilities come to light. At its heart, TAFTEESH explores powerful themes of social responsibility, guilt, inequality, and accountability, raising a compelling question: When a tragedy occurs, who is truly responsible, the individual, the family, or society itself.
This production is directed by Sanjay Sahay, acclaimed playwright, filmmaker, editor of the iconic literary journal Hans, and founder of Gayas Renaissance cultural center. Renowned for directing over 50 shows of his celebrated play Jaanch Padtaal with 500 plus performances nationwide and writing the story for the National Award winning film Patang, Sahay brings decades of bold, progressive storytelling to the stage.
