This brilliant stage performance transports the audiences to the ancient streets of Baghdad and Cairo, where time unfolds like a magical being. The play follows Fuwaad ibn Abbas through a journey woven together with the lives of a motley crew of characters – Hassan, Ajib, and Raniya. Enacted by master storyteller Kenneth Desai, this performance immerses viewers in a rich tapestry of emotion, spanning joy, anguish, repentance, and solace, as the characters navigate their pasts and futures.
Produced by Jairaj Patil, ‘The Gate of Years’ captures universal themes of human resilience and connection through Desai’s dramatic interpretation. A seasoned actor with over 40 years in theatre and film, Desai is known for his work in films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), Munnabhai M.B.B.S (2003), and Barfi (2012) as well as his award-winning role in ‘Kevi Rite Jaish’ (2012). He brings depth and nuance to each story, delivering a memorable and thought-provoking experience.
