THE VAGINA WHISPERS, inspired by Eve Enslers The Vagina Monologues.
At the heart of Eve Enslers work is a simple yet radical idea: when women are given the freedom to speak openly about their bodies, experiences, pain, pleasure, violence, identity and resilience, silence begins to lose its power. We hope to carry that spirit forward in our own way, through the voices and realities of women around us.
And these voices are not coming from a single world.
The women performing this production are students, IT professionals, lawyers, homemakers, artists and women from different walks of life. Different lives. Different experiences. Different stories. Yet, there is something that connects us all.
These stories belong to every woman who bleeds.
We are especially proud to bring this work to Hyderabad, and to be among the very few theatre groups in India presenting an original production inspired by The Vagina Monologues. For us,this is more than a performance. It is an act of listening, sharing, questioning and continuing a conversation that must never be silenced.
This is our whisper.
And we hope, when it reaches you, it becomes an echo.
