Once a French Traveller Thevenot (1630s) wrote that road between Delhi and Agra was full of most cunningest robbers in the world who were called Thugs.
These Thugs formed a secret fraternity and temptation of Thugee brought people from all walks of life. In Delhi Nobody knew who is thug among them. Even beautiful women (Thugeeni) used to lure travellers (Rahagir) into guest houses (Sarai).
On this walk we will understand who were thugs in Delhi,?who were soft targets for Thugs? How thugs used to cover their crimes? If caught then how they used to escape? And what was Delhi`s defence against this marauding cult.
