ABOUT THE FEATURED POETS Durga Prasad Dash

Our featured poet, Durga Prasad Dash, is someone whose life itself seems to have travelled through several different poems.

Born in a remote village of Odisha, he went on to serve nearly two decades in the Indian Air Force, received the Chief of the Air Staff Commendation, and later joined the Income Tax Department. Yet through all these journeys, poetry remained his constant companion.

Writing also as Anuragi, he is an author, poet and lyricist who writes in English, Hindi and Odia. His creative world ranges from love, longing and nature to travel, village life, and writing based on Indian and western philosophy. He would like to bring a synthesis of eastern

and western perspectives through his writings he says. He is the author of several books spanning poetry, short stories, philosophy and Indian wisdom. Some of is poems have been

published in his book - Pebbles and Waves. That is also the name of his blog

where he writes regularly on various topics.

What distinguishes his poetry is its ability to begin with something very ordinary - a leaf, a road, a conversation, a memory - and quietly lead us towards something deeply human.
