Daughter of actor Suniel Shetty and creative director Mana Shetty, Athiya Shetty forayed into the film industry in 2015 with Hero, a remake of Subhash Ghai`s 1983 film of the same name. She played the female lead in the movie opposite actor Sooraj Pancholi, under the direction of Nikhil Advani, with the movie being produced by Salman Khan. Her 2017 venture includes director Anees Bazmee`s romantic comedy film Mubarakan opposite actors like Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Ileana D`Cruz. The movie revolves around a Punjabi wedding set in London, in which Athiya plays the role of Anjali. Her 2019 release includes Motichoor Chaknachoor, directed by Debamitra Biswal.
