Barry Atsma is a Dutch actor who gained recognition for his performance in Rozengeur & Wodka Like (2001 - 2005), a Dutch TV series. Astma's father worked as an expat for the Dutch-British multinational company, Unilever: owing to this their family moved many places. Astma spent his youth days in United Kingdom, Brazil, Greece, and Netherlands. Before becoming an actor, Astma took up the study of law. However, he later chose Academy of Performing Arts and graduated in 1996.

Some of his movie credits include A Thousand Kisses (2005), The Storm (2009), Loft (2010), Hector and the Search for Happiness (2014), and In My Father's Garden (2016). Astma won the Golden Calf Award for Best Actor for his performance in the movie Stricken (2010), and the Rembrandt Award for Best Dutch Actor for his role in the movie Komt een vrouw bij de dokter (2010).

In 2017, he appeared in the movie The Hitman's Bodyguard directed by Patrick Hughes.
