Born in 1982, Benedict Taylor is a solo violinist and award-winning composer who specializes in modern music. Taylor teaches and gives lectures in various musical institutions.

Early Life
A British-born, Benedict studied viola at the Royal Northern College of Music and did a course in ethnomusicology at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Personal Life
While Studying in London, Taylor met the Indian actress Radhika Apte. The two fell in love and tied the knot in September 2012.

Movie Career
Taylor made his Hindi movie debut by composing music for the Kalki Koechlin-Naseeruddin Shah starrer That Girl in Yellow Boots. Then, he gave music for the critically acclaimed film Ship of Theseus. For the film, Taylor bagged several international awards and recognitions like the Transylvania Trophy and Jury Special Mention at the London Film Festival. In 2014, he composed the background score for the Marathi drama film Killa. His 2016 releases include the comedy-drama film Nil Battey Sannata, starring Swara Bhaskar, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Riya Shukla.

Independent Music Career
Benedict Taylor has performed at many leading festivals including Royal Court Theatre, Venice International Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Festival, London Contemporary Music Festival, Aldeburgh Festival, Cantiere D'Arte di Montepulciano, and Edinburgh Festival. He has also performed with known artists like Stephen Crowe, Daniel Thompson and Evan Parker, to name a few.
