A former Indian actress and producer, Bengaluru Vijaya Radha, better known as BV Radha is a veteran star in the South Indian film industry, especially in the Kannada film industry. Having started her career in 1964 with the Kannada film Navakoti Narayana (1964), the actress subsequently in her career spanning more than 50 years starred in more than 300 across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Tulu, and Hindi language films. Known for playing mostly supporting roles, BV Radha was honored with the Kanaka Ratna Award by the Kaginele Kanaka Guru Peetha, a spiritual and cultural center for Kuruba Gowdas in 2010 for her immense contribution to the Kannada cinema and theater. Few of her most notable film credits include Kiladi Ranga (1966), Makkale Manege Manikya (1969), Jwala Mohini (1973), Mane Belaku (1975), Nagara Hole (1977), Simhada Mari (1997), Partha (2003), Shastri (2005) and Thandege Thakka Maga (2006).
