An English actor and singer-songwriter, David Essex has acted in several movies, the most prominent ones being Stardust (1974), Silver Dream Racer (1980), Tribe (2011), and The Guvnors (2014), along with many TV series like EastEnders, The River, London Bridge and The John Denver Show. He has composed music for the TV series The River. He has worked on the soundtrack of TV series like Doctors, Detectorists, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Six Feet Under, Top of the Pops, and the movies The Long Weekend, War of the Servers, and Savage Honeymoon. His 2017 venture as an actor includes director Kavi Raz's The Black Prince, based on the real life story of the last King of Punjab, Maharaja Dalip Singh, starring Satinder Sartaj and Amanda Root in the lead roles.
