Screenwriter Eric Kirsten is perhaps best known for penning The Lighthouse, which made it to the Black List in 2012 as one among Hollywoods favourite unproduced screenplays. In 2018, Kirsten co-wrote the romantic drama Midnight Sun with Kenji Bando, which was based on the 2006 Japanese movie of the same name penned by the latter.
